History of John C Holland Enterprises, INC
Family owned and operated landfill since 1979.
John C Holland Sr. wore many hats in the construction and demolition community of Hampton Roads in the 1960s-1990s. He obtained a permit to operate an inert solid waste landfill in 1979. His wife, Marie, and second generation (John C. Holland, Jr., JoAnn Nesson, Jonnie Gayle Franklin and Jeanne Tippett) kept the business alive after his passing in 1992. The company expanded and added an affiliated roll-off company, Hampton Roads Disposal (HRD). John C. Holland Jr. led the companies as President until his passing in December 2011. His wife, Rhonda Holland, took on this position and joined his sister, JoAnn Nesson, in 2012. The pair successfully obtained SwAM certification. A third generation is now managing everyday operations at both HRD and JCHE. John C. Holland Enterprises, INC has transitioned to doing business as JCH Environmental.
